| |
Harvard and CNS have special training requirements for tools that involve x-rays.
Currently, the CNS tools that require this special training are:
XRA-001 Bruker X-Ray Diffractometer, XRA-002 Micro-CT System
The steps below must be completed prior to training and qualification on these tools.
X-Ray Safety Requirements:
- Read the Harvard Lab X-ray Device Manual located at:
http://www.uos.harvard.edu/ehs/radsafety/xrays.shtml
- View the video entitled X-ray Diffraction Hazards located in the CNS Safety Videos page.
- Read the Harvard University Radiation and Protection Office X-ray Diffraction/Fluorescence General Safety Protocol and X-ray Cabinet General Safety Protocol located on the CNS website.
- For the Bruker Diffractometer only: register for a body and finger dosimeter. Contact Richard Schalek (rschalek@cns.fas.harvard.edu) or Ari Wertheimer (617-495-0841) for more information.
